13th Annual Missouri Economics Conference Returns to the Spring

The Research Division of the Federal Reserve Bank St. Louis and the Department of Economics at the University of Missouri—Columbia are pleased to announce that the thirteenth annual Missouri Economics Conference will take place at the University of Missouri on Friday and Saturday, March 22-23, 2013, at Reynolds Alumni Center, University of Missouri—Columbia.

We have two excellent plenary speakers for the 2013 conference: Professor Willam A. Brock, Department of Economics, University of Missouri-Columbia, and Department of Economics, University of Wisconsin – Madison, and Professor Randall Wright, the Ray Zemon Chair in Liquid Assets, Department of Finance, University of Wisconsin – Madison.

The deadline to submit papers for the 2013 Missouri Economics Conference is February 1, 2013. To be considered for presentation at the conference, research papers or abstracts should be sent via email to: haslagj@missouri.edu.

Registration for this year's conference is closed.

Sessions:

Concurrent sessions will consist of four papers. Participants will have 30 minutes to present a paper. All sessions will take place at the Reynolds Alumni Center on campus.

Hotel Arrangements:

The Tiger Hotel, 23 S. 8th Street, (http://www.thetigerhotel.com ) which is within walking distance of the conference site. For reservations call 573-875-8888 and reference group code: 1303DEP. You must reference this code to get the rate of $119.00 night + tax for king rooms; $135.00 night + tax for junior suites (larger room with sleeper sofa included). Reservations must be made by March 5, 2013, in order to receive the special rate. After that date, reservations will be provided on a space-available basis only.

Travel Information:

Driving to the Conference: A map to the University of Missouri, Columbia is posted at http://map.missouri.edu/.

Flying to the Conference:

The local airport is Columbia Regional Airport. It is generally cheaper to fly to Kansas City (150 miles to the west) or St. Louis (120 miles to the east) and either rent a car or take a shuttle bus.
